How to take rosacea under control?
Rosacea is a fairly common skin condition that affects millions of people of all ages around the world. It is typically characterized by persistent redness, flushing, and bumps or pimples on the face, and if left untreated will get worst over time. The exact cause of rosacea is unknown, but researchers believe that a combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors may contribute to its development. Some triggers that can exacerbate rosacea include sun exposure, stress, hot or cold weather, spicy foods, alcohol, and certain medication.
Typically, the treatment for rosacea involves a combination of medication and lifestyle modifications. Topical and oral antibiotics, topical creams and gels containing azelaic acid or metronidazole, and medications that constrict blood vessels may be prescribed to help control the symptoms Unfortunately, there is no permanent cure for rosacea yet; however, there are many skincare products available that can help reduce its symptoms and keep flare-ups at bay.
Our recommendation is as follows:
Apply a gentle cleanser twice daily. Cleansers help remove damaging debris from the skin surface and pores. However, many cleansers on the market today contain harsh chemicals.
We recommend Botanical Cleaning Gel, a gentle, sulfate-free, and alcohol-free cleanser that penetrates pores and removes debris while deeply hydrating and protecting with red algae extract.
Soothe and nourish. Reduce irritation and inflammation by providing skin with essential vitamins and oils, helping cells protect themselves and repair damaged skin.
We recommend: Replenish Serum, a lipid-rich serum with vitamins E and F, which sustain skin and enhance repair, and Lipochroman®, the strongest antioxidant on the market with triple protection against carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen free radicals. Another of our serums, Power Serum also has excellent anti-inflammatory properties, using lilac stem cells, vitamin C, and gene modulators to support healthy, youthful skin.
Keep skin hydrated. Dry skin is much more prone to irritation, and it’s harder to provide moisture to irritated red patches even though it’s essential for them to heal. A strong moisturizer quenches and sustains the skin in these areas.
We recommend: Defy Cream, a powerful moisturizer containing Lipochroman® and Chromabright® – two essential ingredients for treating rosacea by protecting and evening skin tone.
Protect against further damage.
We recommend: Mineral Shield SPF 40, a tinted anti-aging moisturizer with global protection against UVA, UVB, HEV, and IR light and environmental pollutants. Radiant Shield contains Ectoin®, a small molecule ingredient that sustains skin for lasting hydration, protection against microparticle pollution, and protection against HEV and IR light, along with Lipochroman® and zinc oxide to protect against free radical and UV damage, respectively.
